The 6 acre site is part of the established Biltmore village developed in Asheville NC during the last 10 years. The new development conserves and enhanced the historic village setting, sympathetically integrating new single houses, duplex and facility within the existing community. The focus of the scheme is a square located at the beginning of the existing public street. This square encloses a new village green, a focus for community activities. A series of red brick houses with Dutch gable and Tudor townhouses marks the center of the crescent and the route to the main square and children play area. The development is an exemplar for the design of new rural estates, successfully balancing cost effectiveness with commercial viability and attractive, high quality design.
